June 24 Breakfast Meeting with Bradley Moss

Title

"How A Problem on Hamel Street went on to Transform the Lives of Thousands"

Biography

Vice District Governor Bradley Moss is a 3rd generation Lion who joined the Lions Club in 2003. He is best known in Lions circles for his work in establishing the eyeglass recycling centre at Bishops Falls Correctional Center, and co-founding the Lions and Team Broken Earth partnership with Dr. Andrew Furey. Together, these organizations have exported over 3 million dollars worth of free eye exams and eyeglasses in the Caribbean and Latin America. He has received numerous Lions commendations, and both the House of Commons and Senate of Canada 150 awards for his efforts in sight conservation and bringing the gift of sight to those with no reasonable expectation of ever seeing properly. In 2019, Bradley was appointed as the province’s Citizens’ Representative (Ombudsman) for a six year term on a unanimous resolution of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly.

Meeting Description

Bradley will explain how Lions and Team Broken Earth took a pile of unwanted eyeglasses in Newfoundland and turned them into a massive recycling and distribution network in the 3 poorest countries in the western hemisphere. Bradley’s message is the same one Helen Keller gave to the Lions in 1925: “Alone we can do little, together we can do so much.”
